Thank you for visiting the Real Diaper Association’s media center!

The Real Diaper Association is a grassroots non-profit that aims to create a cultural shift to increase the use of simple, reusable cloth diapers. RDA members (or advocates) consist primarily of small business owners and parents who reach out to their local communities to support and encourage this cultural shift. The RDA is run by 6 volunteer Board of Director members, 3 part-time employees, and 35 Real Diaper Circle Leaders, and volunteers all across America, Canada & even in military communities in Europe & Asia. (accurate as of September 2015)

The Real Diaper Association is committed to helping these cloth diapering advocates share the benefits of cloth diapers with their community. We support our volunteers by providing them with what we consider an invaluable tool to go along with their own experience of choosing 100% cloth diapers for their own children. We support Leaders' training in Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC) prior to accrediting an RDA volunteer as a Real Diaper Circle Leader. NVC offers Leaders the tools to hear the needs, feelings and requests of their communities. The RDA also provides accredited Circle Leaders with a cloth diaper educators kit and a web-based support community.

Circle Leaders assess the needs of their community and then work to grow and support their community’s use of cloth diapers. Many Circle Leaders hold cloth diapering classes, sewing circles, and meetups. Most Circle Leaders have online groups where parents can ask questions and learn from the experience of others in their community in a judgement free space. The Real Diaper Association knows and appreciates how important this community connection remains, despite the widespread availability of information on the internet, because environmental factors, cultural and social differences can all play a role in a family’s success using cloth diapers. We also know how important it is for a parent to have a trusted face-to-face connection, especially when they have a new baby or small child.

The Real Diaper Association understands what a vital role Bloggers and Influencers play when it comes to helping parents get the information and support they need to be successful. Your support is crucial to helping spread the evidence-based information RDA gathers to help cloth diaper users to be successful. Your posts and shares also help those that are new to cloth diapers learn about the benefits of choosing cloth diapers for their babies.
